Microblading Pre Care: Small choices make a big difference.

Now before I get into the microblading pre care, I want to make it clear that this is after we know you are a good candidate and safe for the procedure. You have already booked your appointment and now this is what we need for you to make the treatment goes as smooth as possible! Proper pre and aftercare along with proper skin type will help with the results.

A great example is if you’ve ever hired a tile installer. A huge part of their job is the prep work and mapping out what your desired look at before they actually put the tile in place. They must map out and measure the tiles so they look good, cut them, and use spaces to ensure they are aligned before you apply the grout to secure tiles in place. Microblading is the same way because the prep work will aid in better results.

What should I avoid consuming before my microblading appointment?

-Do not drink alcohol or caffeine at least 24 hours before the procedure.

-Avoid blood thinners such as Coumadin (Warfarin), Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Advil, Niacin, vitamin E and fish oil 48-72 hours prior to your procedure.

Why?

All of these are important to follow because they are blood thinners. Thinning the blood may result in a greater chance of bleeding during the procedure, which can make it hard to implant the pigment into the skin. If the pigment struggles to stay into the skin then you will lose your microbladed strokes.

What should I avoid doing before my microblading appointment?

-Avoid waxing and tinting 3 days before the procedure.

Why?

Our job is to enhance your eyebrows so we want to work with what you have.

-Botox should be done 3 weeks before or 3 weeks after the procedure.

Why?

We want your facial muscles to be relaxed and botox can affect this by making the skin more pushed out as well as not risking working on skin that was just injected with a substance. We use a blade and don’t want the botox leaking out of the skin if it wasn’t injected properly.

-Stop usage of vitamin a and retin-A/retinol products 2 weeks before treatment

Why?

This will saturate the skin which will make it harder to implant the pigment into the skin and can also make it difficult to keep microblading retention.

-Do not tan two weeks prior to the service, or have a sunburned face

Why?

Your skin will slowly exfoliate itself which will peel away the microbladed strokes.

If you follow all of these, your microblading procedure will go as smooth as possible and you will be super excited when you check out your new eyebrows!

We hope that we answered all your questions on microblading pre care!
